Haha yea I been looking for a carving glove xD those chainmail gloves are rly expensive! I ordered tactical fingerless gloves instead. it should help. Just sad I can't continue whittling for a while. Not allowed to put pressure on my hand xD
No real knives with what I do, unless you count each of the hundreds of little razor-sharp chips of metal that cover everything. I'd love a pair of gloves, but a tactile sensation is required, so calices will just have to do.
How do I become a Gym Leader? What's required? Gym Leaders are required to maintain a Gym for their battles (unless a gym is already built for it, then they must obtain the badge of one of the current gym leaders to apply), and a team of at LEAST 6 pokemon of their gym type for battling. These pokemon can be any level between the required levels, and they can accept 3v3 or 6v6 battles. We expect Leaders to be active and friendly players who will open their gym frequently to allow challengers to try and win a badge from their gym.
Interested in becoming a Gym Leader? Make sure to read the FAQ down below before filling out the application. Please be patient after submitting your application, as we get a lot of them and it can take time to process. If you need to update your app you can leave comments on it, and we will contact you when we have reviewed your Gym Leader App. Good luck!
Can there be more than 1 Leader per Gym? Yes! We allow more than 1 gym leader per gym, that way players don't have to just wait for one specific player to earn that badge. So if there is already a leader for a Gym you like, have no fear, you can still become a leader! You will be required to defeat the leader of the specific gym you wish to join as well, so make sure to do so first and obtain their badge!
Do I need to build my own Gym? It depends! Gyms are all player-made, so if a Gym has no leader yet, the first Leader will need to build one. An official gym will require a large enough arena for all pokemon sizes to battle in, be somewhat themed in the style of your gym/pokemon type, and have at least 1 PC/Healer combo for everyone to use. It also requires a 'warp-in' area that is where challengers warp in and has signs//information for them to read about rules, leaders, etc.
Will there be more than 1 gym built for a gym type? Currently, the system is setup to only have one physical gym/location per gym type. If we find the owner of a Gym Type goes inactive and gets demoted as a leader, we may start using someone else's gym. We will have to take these cases one at a time though, and don't think it'll be a huge dilemma.
What if a Gym Leader goes inactive? If a Gym Leader hasn't logged on in a while, we will attempt to contact them to check up on them. If they continue to be inactive, we will just demote them. We expect leaders to be added and removed over time as players come and go
What is level-locking and how do I do it? Level-locking HAS to be done during gym battles for both the challenger AND the leader. This prevents pokemon from leveling up during a battle and going over the gyms set level limit. Simply go into your pokemons stats window, and click the L icon in the upper-left area. This is a toggle-function, meaning you can enable/disable it whenever you want, and it's not permanent.
Here is where the level-lock button is located: Show
Can I challenge a leader more than once per day? You can challenge a Gym Leader once per 24 hours. Multiple challenges in the same day are up to the discretion of the gym leader, but not required to accept on their part. So make each challenge/battle count!
Can I setup challenges/puzzles in my Gym? Having a challenge/puzzle at the entrance to your Gym is allowed, as long as it's not terribly complex. Simple and fun things will be accepted in official gyms, but it's not a requirement when making a gym either. Just a fun idea if you wish to make your challengers have a good brain teaser before their battle. Please don't make really difficult challenges lol.
Are there specific battle-rules for Gym Battles?
- Gym Leaders can offer a 3v3 or 6v6 battle (leaders choice)
- Challengers can use ANY pokemon to battle (including legendaries)
- NO on-use items are allowed during battle
- Held items ARE allowed during battle
- Pokemon must be level-locked before battle so they don't level mid-battle
- You can only challenge a specific Leader once per 24 hours
How do I get to a specific Gym? Simply type in /gyms while on the Pixelmon server, and it will display the Gyms GUI where you can see all the official Gyms, what leaders are online, and if any of them are currently open for battles. If a Gym is open, you can just click the Gym in the menu and it will warp you directly to that gym. Good luck in your battles!
